Thats a hard predictions, because in the begining most teams are vunerable. They get better as the season goes on. Thats why you always want to play the best teams early in the season.

Any team ranked in the top 10 of any Class has the potential to go undefeated, but to name any of them would give their opponents added incentive to make it not happen. Any team that goes undefeated during a season has accomplished something really special.

8-)I'll make a bold prediction and say no team in the top 10 in the state will go undefeated but this will be a very interesting season for a few area teams with some surprises sure to come especially in the northeast corner of 465

I'll pick one in 4A,3A,and 2A. North Central, Brebeuf, and Indian Creek. Time to duck and cover!

Interesting choices GLC:
I will give you those 3 cause they don't play certain teams in the regular season. But once you get to the tourney, a couple of them may fall.
I won't say who or why, cause I don't know, but there are some teams out there that are right with your picks.
It is alot tougher for the 1,2, and 3A schools to make it undefeated cause they end up playing some of the bigger 4A schools, and that makes it tough.
I would say there could be a couple of undefeated teams going into the tourney this year in 4A. North Central being one of them.

I honestly think that Angola has a pretty good chance. I mean they have two starting players back that are seniors. they have a chance to go undefeated.!

Other teams that could it are ECC,HSE,Merrillville, and SB St. Joe. I bet a HSE vs ECC would be a good up-and-down game.

I haven't seen all schedules yet, but I agree with GLC, at least up north here. Throw Gary West in there also, the winner of the Westside-ECC game could very well be undefeated. Westside also usually plays one or two tough Chicago teams which could give them a defeat.
South Bend St. Joseph's is still in the Warsaw tourney and may have to beat both Perry Meridian and Warsaw to win. If they just played 3A schools up here, they would most likely win them all. They do play city rivals Washington and Riley who will both be tough to beat.
You have to be both good and a little lucky to win them all! ;D

Playing style plays a big part in a team going undefeated. A team that usually goes undefeated can play many different styles of basketball.

Easy schedule will dictate who goes undefeated. No way SB St. Joe will. They play 16 4A schools including ECC, Gary Westside, Warsaw, Perry Meridian, Washington, Lawrence North, Naperville Illinois, Muehlenburg KY, Penn, not to mention Andrean, Chatard, Northwood, Clay, Elkhart Memorial who will all be solid.
Washington will have a real good chance. Their schedule only has a handful of tough games.
Usually the undefeated teams do not have as tough of a schedule.

Angola did have some very strong talent the last 3 years. Last year they were finally able to make the breakthrough and win the sectionals. The reason they weren't able to win the Regionals wasn't lack of talent it was just running into SB St. Joseph's at the wrong time of year. I think earlier in the season Angola would have won that game, but St. Joe's was just on a roll when they met at Regionals.
