The Lady Jaguars were short handed against DI opponent Malcolm X but played with a lot of pride, determination, and heart to defeat Malcolm X 80-44 with only 7 players and one of those was battling the cold/flu bug. Abby Kinder was dressed but did not play due to an injury sustained Saturday. Three players did not make the trip due to a team rule violation.
Leading the Jaguars was Colombe Martin (Penn) 16 pts, Keri Roach 15 pts, Chelsey Miller 15 pts, Brittani Brandon had 11 pts. Colombe had 13 rebounds and 2 block shots while Jessica Richards (Warren Central) had 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Kassie Yates and Alicia Asher both scored nine points apiece in the win. Both Yates and Asher are both Western Boone graduates.
The Jaguars are off this week for finals and will begin MWAC play next Saturday at John Wood.
The information was provided by head coach Lyle Hicks.
