The Lady Jaguars gave fans a valentine present by upsetting John Wood CC in MM Gym 85 67. The Jaguars jumped to a 9-0 lead and lead 19-4 at one point early in the game. The Jaguars held a 39-35 half time lead but coming out of the break did not look back building the lead to as much as 22 pts during the game. Leading the Jaguars in scoring was Ashley Ross, Sarai Rose, and Ashley Ross with 15 pts each. Colombe Martin and Abby Kinder had 13 pts each in the win. Abby Kinder had 9 rebounds and 4 steals to lead the team in those categories while Sarai Rose had 6 assists. Colombe Martin had 5 block shots for the game.
The game was Pink Day for the Jaguars with proceeds going to the Kay Yow fund in the fight against breast cancer. The Jaguars and the Trailblazers wore pink laces as well as pink in their hair. Anyone may still make a contribution to the Jaguars by contacting a player or the coaches.
Next up for the Jaguars is a trip to Parkland to play the #5 ranked Cobras who lead the MWAC at 10-1. Next Saturday the Jaguars will host Shawnee at 2:00.
