Is it me, or does it seem like men are making a resurgence into head coaching jobs on the women's side?
My thoughts have always been that a job should go to the best candidate. For awhile there, it seemed like the feeling was that men were being passed over just because of their gender. But it seems like some recent hires have been favoring men.

Of the 34 D1 jobs that advertised, with Evansville being the latest one filled, 22 have gone to women and 12 to men. Honestly, I haven't paid much attention to to breakdown from year to year to know how this differs from the past. For major college jobs (BCS leagues) it's 5 women and 2 men and I don't think anyone would begrudge Washington for snatching up McGuff after the job he's done as lead assistant at Notre Dame and head coach at Xavier.
I think you go with the best candidate regardless. However, if two candidates are deemed equal, I think you should go with the female every time. Don't know how popular an opinion that is, just my personal take.
